FutureSteps is operated by NestR LLC and provides educational planning support. It does not represent a university, government, scholarship provider, immigration adviser, school counselor, licensing authority or employer.
Account eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create a FutureSteps account and provide accurate age and account information. Students aged 13–17 who confirm that they live in Texas can use our private web service without parent approval, unless an earlier refusal or withdrawal still applies. For other or unconfirmed locations, our current policy asks for parent or legal guardian permission through a secure email link; no separate parent account is needed. This confirms access to the invited mailbox and records the adult’s statements, not independent identity or guardianship verification. A privacy notice or ordinary email approval does not replace any stronger consent process required by applicable law. Provide your actual residence, not the location of a school you hope to attend; contact support to correct it. Adult accounts do not require parent permission. Permission to use the service is separate from optional family progress sharing and does not give parents access to private coaching chats. Under-13 accounts are not supported.

Free tools and your AI trial
College and scholarship search, career exploration, planning, question-bank practice, and linked parent access have no trial expiry and do not require a paid subscription, subject to account eligibility. Eligible student accounts without a previous paid subscription receive one 90-day AI trial for homework help, tutoring and college and career coaching calculated from their signup date, including existing free accounts. Access requires email verification and the applicable age and permission steps. Study and coaching share one weekly AI allowance. Study also allows up to 100 requests per day, subject to the remaining weekly allowance and service availability. Longer chats, complex questions and photos may use more allowance. Allowances reset on Monday at 00:00 UTC. Study and coaching share one weekly AI allowance; enabling coaching does not add a second allowance or restart the trial. No card is needed and there is no automatic charge or renewal. Existing paid subscribers retain their plan benefits. After day 90, new live homework help and AI coaching need a paid plan and available allowance. Free planning, question-bank practice, linked parent access and saved notes remain available subject to account eligibility. Verification, withdrawal of permission or a later return does not restart or extend the window; former subscribers do not receive a new trial after cancellation.
Subscriptions and cancellation
Where paid checkout is available, Core is $9, Plus is $19.99 and Complete is $34.99 per month in USD. Stripe checkout shows the amount and any applicable tax before you subscribe. Subscriptions renew monthly until canceled. Each subscription covers one student account; family sharing does not add a second student subscription. You can cancel in Billing settings before your next renewal; access normally continues until the end of the paid period. Account deletion or withdrawal of required parent permission closes access and requests subscription cancellation. Cancellation does not automatically refund an earlier charge. Contact [email protected] for billing errors, refund requests or help canceling; any rights required by applicable law remain unaffected. AI coaching allowances are limited and renew weekly; the app shows your remaining allowance and reset date. Human advising is not included.

Admission bands, cost estimates, scholarship matches and career suggestions are planning indicators. Families must verify all requirements and costs with official institutions.

Data accuracy
The starter catalog contains broad demo estimates used to demonstrate product workflow. Production customers should only receive refreshed, sourced and quality-reviewed facts.
Responsible use
Families should use FutureSteps as a planning companion, not as the only source for admissions, scholarship, visa, licensing or employment decisions.
